What do our participants think about the Scholae?

Ester, Czech Republic:
I am excited about the event, I enjoyed it a lot. I like the combination of different approaches to learning – school lessons, workshops on various topics taught in Latin and, of course, informal conversations with other participants. Here, the Latin language was truly a bridge between cultures. Thank you very much for the opportunity to participate. And besides, a beautiful place and it was also wheelchair accessible.

Jiwu (Proficiens), South Korea:
I really love these workshops. From the beginning, I met many wonderful and knowledgeable people, as well as many great friends who speak Latin. I also learned a lot – both in classes and during conversations. The teachers here were excellent; they knew almost everything about the Latin language and often explained new grammar points that are not in the textbook whenever students asked. I learned not only in class, but also in restaurants, on the street, and during excursions, because we all spoke Latin. These conversations helped me a lot, as they taught me how to think and speak in Latin. In conclusion, these workshops are excellent, and I want to come back next year. See you next time!

Maria, Ukraine:
This was the first experience in my life when I realized that it is possible to speak Latin, that it is a living language. An incredible motivation to study Latin. Excellent teachers, the opportunity to make new contacts, exchange educational experiences – overall, very positive impressions.

René, France:
The classes were excellent and varied. For example, in the Provectiores II class we, the students, not only read a lot of prose and poetry every day, but also Ms. Ela Górka encouraged us to speak and write in Latin. I learned many expressions related to everyday matters, clothes, flowers, and trees. I also greatly enjoyed the lesson on Roman law conducted by Mr. Radek Černoch (in Latin, of course!), because he compared Roman law with our own.
